LADY WANDA'S ENCOURAGEMENT
FREEDOM IN CHRIST
Scripture Reference: John 8:36 So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.
Sometimes as people we feel bound. We feel like slaves to people, jobs, family, friends, sometimes even life. No one likes to think of oneself as a slave. We would like to believe we are free. Let me just say that the enemy can make you appear free, but truthfully you are still very much enslaved. Sometimes we become addicted to something that appears glamorous, but it is more like a parasite feeding off of us while keeping us bound and caged. Even our family and friends can sometimes offer us something that looks good to us, but it isn’t good for us. Once we have tasted the forbidden fruit (sin), sometimes the addiction becomes real and we can’t walk away on our own. This is when we need Jesus the most. He is the only one who is able to truly set us free from sin. He is able to remove the shackles from our feet and set us free.
Here is the good news, because Jesus stayed on the cross and died for our sins, our debt has been paid. We are free in Him. Galatians 5:13 says: For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. Our sins have been forgiven if we are believers in Jesus Christ. Our focus should be on our relationship with Jesus Christ, believing and having faith that He died on the cross for us. If we do all things in love, we will be pleasing God and living out a Christlike life in freedom. So, whatever you do, let your love shine through and you will find the freedom in Christ Jesus.
Let’s Pray
Father, we thank You for Your son’s sacrifice. Help us to do all things in love. Thank You for our freedom in Christ Jesus. Your way is always better than ours. Keep speaking to our hearts and we will continue to give You the glory. In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen!
