LADY WANDA'S ENCOURAGEMENT
ARE YOU WILLING?
Scripture Reference: Matthew 20:28 "For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
So many people say they are willing to do many things, but in the end, they can’t withstand the pressure it takes. People say, “I will marry you," “I will do the work," “I will honor your request," “I will make it happen." A lot of times, those statements sound good and even work well initially, but then life steps in and the “I will” turns to “I can’t” or “I don’t want to anymore”. Most times, the “I will” leads to a sacrifice that we are not willing to make. So, tell me, what are you willing to do?
In the scripture reference, Jesus tells his disciples that he came to serve, not to be served. He was willing to give his life for all of mankind. His sacrifice was great, far greater than any we have ever made or will make. When we are faced with situations that require us to say, “I will," we should know that sacrifices must be made and be willing to make the sacrifices required. Being like Jesus, we should not quit when it gets tough. When the pain got unbearable on the cross, he stayed and finished his assignment. As believers, we must do the same. Sometimes when things get rough, we have to focus our thoughts on Jesus and how he endured and believe that the Lord is right there with us helping us to make it through.
Like Jesus, are you willing to serve others? Are you willing to go the distance? Are you willing to make sacrifices? Jesus commands us to love our neighbors as ourselves. Are you willing to show love to your neighbors? Or is there some line in the sand that you are not willing to cross? Jesus didn’t have a line in the sand, he didn’t say I will take on the sins of certain people, he was willing to save all of us. Are you willing? I believe God is calling willing vessels. Will you answer the call?
Let’s Pray
Lord, we thank You for Your willingness to go to the cross for us. We thank you for seeing it through. We bless Your name for Your unfailing love that You continue to show us daily. Help us to be willing to go the distance for You. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!
